CHILDCARE ACCESS AND AFFORDABILITY SUBCOMMITTEE
MINUTES

Representative Franson, Chair of the Childcare Access and Affordability Subcommittee, called the meeting to order at 8:20 AM on February 8, 2017, in Room 200 of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Kresha moved to approve the minutes of February 1, 2017. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF139 (Knoblach) Childcare assistance subsidy restrictions modified.

Chair Franson moved that HF139 be approved and recommended to the Committee on Health and Human Services Reform.

Chair Franson moved to orally amend HF139, Page 2, after line 10, insert: “Effective Date. This section is effective July 1, 2018.” THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Jim Knoblach testified on HF139, as amended.

Chair Franson renewed the motion that HF139, as amended, be approved and recommended to the Committee on Health and Human Services Reform. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF723 (Peterson) Childcare assistance program maximum reimbursement rates modified and money appropriated.

Representative Peterson moved that HF723 be approved and recommended to the Committee on Health and Human Services Reform.

Representative Peterson assumed the gavel at 8:33 AM.


HF XXXX (Franson) Exemption from positive supports strategy rules (language was drafted as HF 904)

Chair Franson moved that the language of HF XXXX Exemption from positive supports strategy rules be approved and recommended to the Committee on Health and Human Services Reform.

Representative Quam assumed the gavel at 8:45 AM.
