MINUTES

Representative O’Driscoll, Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Policy, began the meeting at 10:15AM on March 1st, 2017, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair O’Driscoll started the meeting to order at 10:19AM. A quorum was present.

Representative Jessup moved to approve the minutes of February 28th. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1643 (Layman) Iron Range resources and rehabilitation commissioner duties modified, and Legislative-Citizen Commission created.

Chair O’Driscoll moved that HF1643 come before the committee and be re-referred to the Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance Committee.

Chair O’Driscoll moved the 1643A17 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair O’Driscoll moved to reconsider HF1504.

Chair O’Driscoll moved to re-refer the HF1504, as amended, to the Taxes Committee. Represented Freiberg requested a roll call vote on the motion. The results were as follows:

HF1393 (Fenton) State primary date changed from August to June, and date of primary elections conducted by a political subdivision changed.

Representative Fenton moved that HF1393 come before the committee for possible inclusion in the Government Operations and Elections Policy omnibus bill.

Representative Fenton moved to orally amend HF1393 as follows:
On line 3.22, Reinstate the stricken “December”,
On line 3.23, delete “April”.

Chair O’Driscoll moved that HF1509 come before the committee for possible inclusion in the Government Operations and Elections Policy omnibus bill.
