MINUTES

Representative Loon, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:04 P.M. on March 28th, 2018 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Murphy moved that the minutes of March 27, 2018 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Minnesota State Academies Bonding Request:

The proposal was heard on an informational basis. Representative Daniels testified on the proposal.

Terry Wilding, Superintendent at Minnesota State Academies, also testified on the proposal.

HF2378 Baker, Music education online access for children and students in rural Minnesota grant program created, report required and money appropriated.

Representative Loon moved HF2378 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Loon moved the H2378A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Baker testified on HF2378, as amended.

Representative Loon laid over HF2378, as amended, for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or for further action at a later date.

HF3870 Peterson, Voluntary prekindergarten participants required to be served through a mixed delivery of services.

Representative Peterson moved HF3870 be re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Peterson testified on HF3870.

Representative Loon laid over HF3870 for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or for further ac-tion at a later date.

Representative Bennett assumed the gavel at 2:32 P.M.

HF3600 Loon, Legislative auditor requested to compare revenue generation and spending between school districts and charter schools, and report required.

Representative Loon moved that HF3600 be re-referred to the Committee on State Government Fi-nance.

Representative Loon testified on HF3600.

Representative Loon renewed her motion to re-refer HF3001 to the Committee on State Govern-ment Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
