MINUTES

Representative Scott, Chair of the Civil Law and Data Practices Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:16 AM, on February 14th, 2017, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Howe moved to approve the minutes of February 9th, 2017. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF985 (Fabian) Duty owed by owners of real property to trespassers specified.

Representative Loonan moved that HF985 be referred to the General Register

Testifying on HF985:

Representative Loonan renewed his motion that HF985 be referred to the General Register.

HF787 (Smith) Animal cruelty reporting immunity provided.

Representative Smith moved that HF787 be referred to the Committee on Agriculture Policy.

Testifying on HF923:
Bryan Lake, Animal Folks of Minnesota

Representative Smith moved to adopt the following oral amendment to HF787 as follows: “Page 1, line 7, after “reporting”, insert “to peace officers, humane agents, or animal control officers.” THE ORAL AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Smith renewed his motion that HF787 be referred to the committee on Agriculture Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 AM.
