MINUTES

Representative Nels Pierson, called the meeting of the Agriculture Policy Committee to order at 10:18 AM on March 14th, 2018, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Pierson called the meeting to order at 10:18 AM. A quorum was present.

Representative Lueck moved that the minutes of March 6, 2018 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3374 (Munson) Noncommercial pesticide applicator license fee reduced

Representative Munson moved that HF3374 be re-referred to the committee on Agriculture Finance.

Testifying on HF3374:

Representative Munson renewed his motion that HF3374 be re-referred to the committee on Agriculture Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Anderson assumed the gavel at 10:30 am

HF3442 (Backer) Advanced biofuel production incentive payment minimum production level reduced

Representative Backer moved that HF3442 be re-referred to the committee on Agriculture Finance.

Representative Backer renewed his motion that HF3442 be re-referred to the committee on Agriculture Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3472 (Swedzinski) Saltwater aquatic farm requirements modified

Chair Anderson moved HF3472.

Chair Anderson moved the H3472A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF3472 as amended was laid over.

HF3216 (Schomacker) Ban on open-air swine basins clarified to exclude truck washes

Representative Daniels moved HF3216 be re-referred to the committee on Environment and Natural Resources Policy and Finance.

Representative Daniels moved the H3216A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF3331 (Poppe) Agricultural drain tiles exempted from sales tax

Representative Poppe moved that HF3331 be re-referred to the committee on Taxes.

Representative Poppe renewed her motion that HF3331 be re-referred to the committee on Taxes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3330 (Kunesh-Podein) Knowing euthanasia of pet or companion animals with nonanesthetic gas prohibited

Representative Kunesh-Podein moved HF3330.
