MINUTES

Representative Peterson, Vice Chair of the Health and Human Services Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:48 P.M. on February 18th, 2015, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Peterson called the meeting to order at 2:48 P.M. A quorum was present.

Representative Baker moved that the minutes of February 17th, 2015 to be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Peterson moved H.F. 352 be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Finance.

Representative Anderson moved DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Anderson presented H.F. 352, as amended.

Testifying for H.F. 352 was Jessica Webster, Legal Aid, and Steve Krikave, MAZON (A Jewish Response to End Hunger).

Representative Peterson renewed her motion for H.F. 352, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Peterson moved H.F. 581 be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Finance.

Representative Wills presented H.F. 581.

Testifying for H.F. 581 was Patricia O’Leary, Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota.

Representative Peterson renewed her motion for H.F. 581 to be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Quam moved H.F. 361 be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Finance.

Representative Quam presented H.F. 361.

Testifying for H.F. 361 was Heidi Hamilton, from the Department of Human Services.
Representative Quam renewed his motion for H.F. 361 to be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Zerwas moved H.F. 522 to be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Finance.

Representative Zerwas presented H.F. 522.

Testifying for H.F. 522 was Pam Johnson, Minnesota Community Action Program, Sara Priest, the Director for Community Action Program in Duluth, and Corey Olson, FAIM (Family Assets for Independence in Minnesota) business owner.

Representative Zerwas renewed his motion for H.F. 522 to be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Freiberg moved H.F. 525 to be re-referred to the Committee on Health and Human Services Finance.

Representative Freiberg moved DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Freiberg presented H.F. 525, as amended.

Testifying for H.F. 525, Dr. Kevin Crosston from North Memorial Hospital, as well as Buck McAlpin, Director of Government Affairs at North Memorial and Ambulance Association.
