MINUTES

Representative Sanders, Chair of the Government Operations and Election Policy, called the meeting to order at 10:15 AM on March 10, 2016 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Scott moved to amend HF1109 (see attached amendment H1109A1)

THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Representative Scott moved to place HF1109, as amended, on the General Register.

Representative Pugh moved to approve the minutes from April 22, 2015.

HF644 (Zerwas) Massage and bodywork therapy registration and fees established.

Representative Pugh moved to amend HF644 (see attached amendment H0644A2)

Representative Pugh moved to re-refer HF644, as amended, to the Committee on Civil Law and Data Practices.

HF1282 (Knoblach) State legislator election without political party designation provided.

The following testified on HF1282:
Jim Knoblach – State Representative

Representative Nelson moved to amend HF1282 (see attached amendment H1282A1)

THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Representative Pugh moved to lay over HF1282, as amended, for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

HF1365 (Fenton) State primary election changed from August to June, and primary elections conducted by a political subdivision date changed.

The following testified on HF1365:

Representative Fenton moved to amend HF1365 (See attached amendment H1365A11)

THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Representative Fenton moved to place HF1365, as amended, on the General Register.

HF2774 (Fenton) Election emergency plan development required.

The following testified on HF2774:
Steve Simon – Secretary of State
Kelly Fenton – State Representative
Julie Strother – Office of the Secretary of State

Representative Fenton moved to re-refer HF2774 to the Committee on Public Safety Policy and Finance.

HF2775 (Fenton) Polling place combination or relocation by election officials in an emergency authorized, and polling place hours extension when polling places are combined or moved on election day authorized.
