MINUTES

Representative Hamilton, called the meeting to order at 10:18 a.m. on March 30, 2016 in Hearing Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Hamilton started the meeting at 10:18 a.m. A quorum was not present.

Minnesota Department of Agriculture report on the status of food hubs, testifying for the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Whitney Place, Director of Government Affairs, Paul Hugunin, Marketing Section Supervisor.

Rep. Hamilton called the meeting to order at 10:32 a.m. a quorum was present.

Rep. Schulz moved to approve the minutes from March 24, 2016. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Bly moved to approve the minutes from March 25, 2016. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2408 Minnesota emerald ash borer suppression program established, and money appropriated.

Rep. Bly moved that HF2408 be re-referred to the Committee on Agriculture Finance.

Testifying on HF2408, Rep. Hansen.

Rep. Bly renewed his motion that HF2408 be re-referred to the Committee on Agriculture Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3324 Urban agriculture development pilot program established, and money appropriated.

Rep. Schulz moved that HF3324 be re-referred to the Committee on Agriculture Finance.

Testifying on HF3324, Rep. Rep. Schulz renewed her motion that HF3324 be re-referred to the Committee on Agriculture Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Anderson assumed the gavel at 11:30 am



HF3363 Good food access program established.

Rep. Hamilton moved that HF3363 be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations and Election Policy.

Testifying on HF3363, Rep. Hamilton, Rachel Callanan, American Heart Association, Cheryal Hills, Executive Director Region Five Development, Mark Boen, Bluebird Gardens Fergus Falls.

Rep. Hamilton moved the H3363A3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Hamilton renewed his motion that HF3363 as amended be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations and Election Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
