MINUTES

Representative Anderson, Chair of the Agriculture Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:16 on March 11, 2015 in Hearing Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Anderson started the meeting at 10:17 a.m. A quorum was not present.

Chair Anderson called the meeting to order at 10:20 a.m. a quorum was present.

Rep. Nornes moved to approve the minutes from March 10, 2015. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF0910: Direct sale of prepared food licensing exclusions provided.

Rep. Nornes moved that House File0910 be re-referred to the Committee on Agriculture Finance.

Rep. Nornes moved the A15-0163 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Testifying on HF0910 as amended, Cecilia Coulter, Board Director, Minnesota Farmers Market Association, Connie David, April Bogard, Department of Health Services, Santo Cruz, Minnesota Department of Agriculture.

Rep. Nornes renewed his motion that House File 0910, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Agriculture Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1377 Second Harvest Heartland grant funding provided, and money appropriated.

Rep. Rarick moves that House File 1377 be re-referred to the committee on Agriculture Finance.

HF1051 Agricultural growth, research, and innovation program grants authorized, and money appropriated.

Rep. Poppe moved that House File 1051 be re-referred to the Committee on Higher Education Policy and Finance.

Rep. Poppe moved the H1051A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Poppe renewed her motion that House File 1051, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Higher Education Policy and Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF879 Agricultural educator grant program established, and money appropriated.

Rep. Anderson, P. moved the following oral amendment: On page 1, line 9, strike “extension” and insert “extended”. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
