MINUTES

Representative Erhardt, Chair of the Transportation Policy Committee called the meeting to order on March 13th 2013 at 2:20 PM in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep.Hornstein moved approval of the minutes from the meeting of Wednesday, March 12th, 2013. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

Chair Erhardt moved HF751:

HF751(Mariani) St. Paul; Central Station on the Central Corridor light rail transit line skyway access requirements established.

Chair Erhardt renewed his motion to pass HF1304 to the general register. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE BILL PASSED.

Rep. Clark presented HF348(Clark) Driver's license application procedures and requirements modified.

Chair Erhardt moved to amend HF348 (see attached H0348A3). THE MOTION PREVAILS. THE AMENDMENT IS ADOPTED.


Chair Erhardt moves that the bill be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee and Transportation Finance.

Rep. Masin presented HF1009(Masin) School bus safety requirements technical corrections made.

Chair Erhardt moved HF1255:

Rep. Johnson presented HF1255(Johnson)Office of Broadband Development established in the Department of Employment and Economic Development, and duties assigned; and Department of Transportation required to post a database on its website and reports required.

Chair Erhardt renews his motion that HF1255 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to Government Operations. THE MOTION PREVAILS. THE BILL IS RE-REFERRED.

Rep. Dorholt moves HF1332:

Rep. Dorholt presented HF1332(Dorholt) Motor vehicle weight limits amended relating to idle reduction technology.

Chair Erhardt laid over HF1332 for possible inclusion in the Transportation Policy Omnibus Bill.

Chair Erhardt moved HF1451:

Rep. Winkler presented HF1451(Winkler) I-35 W bridge remnant steel disposition provided for.


Chair Erhardt renewed his motion that HF1451 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Civil Law. THE MOTION PREVAILS. THE BILL IS RE-REFERRED.
