MINUTES

Representative Paymar, Chair of Committee on Public Safety Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 10:01 a.m. March 14, 2013 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

H.F. 637 (Halverson) Voter registration provisions modified, election administration procedures modified for individuals who have been convicted of a felony, and money appropriated. (10:01 a.m.)

Rep. Simon moved that H.F. 637 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on State Government Finance and Veterans Affairs.

Rep. Simon moved to amend H.F. 637 as follows: (see attached; coded H0637A1). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

H.F. 828 (Lesch) Secure communications network access authorized, minimum standards provided, and network use clarified. (10:20 a.m.)

Rep. Lesch moved that H.F. 828, the first engrossment, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

H.F. 804 (Scott) Department of Corrections allowed to access data to track employment of offenders sentenced to probation for the purpose of case planning. (10:35 a.m.)

Rep. Cornish moved that H.F. 804 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Rep. Hilstrom moved that H.F. 590 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Rep. Hilstrom moved to amend H.F. 590 as follows: (see attached; coded H0590A1). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Hilstrom renewed her motion that H.F. 590, as amended, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

H.F. 690 (Mahoney) Reliance on criminal history for employment purposes limited, and remedies provided. (11:03 a.m.)

Chair Paymar moved that H.F. 690, the first engrossment, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.
