MINUTES

Chair Mahoney called the meeting to order at 12:34 PM, Thursday, March 6, 2014 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll; and a quorum was present.

Chair Mahoney moved to hear HF2659 (Slocum) and re-refer it to the committee on Commerce. Testifier: Lee McGrath, Institute for Justice. Motion prevailed.

Chair Mahoney moved to hear HF2243 (Selcer) and to lay it over for consideration on the omnibus bill. Testifiers: Barbara Battiste, Director of the Legislative office on the Economic Status of Women; Elaine Wyatt, ED of WomenVenture; and Barbara Birr, co-founder of Step One Foods.

Chair Mahoney moved to hear HF2291 (Morgan) and to lay it over for consideration on the omnibus bill. Testifiers: Deb Fitzpatrick, Director, Center on Women and Public Affairs, Humphrey School of Public Affairs; and Beth Peterson, Arrowhead Economic Development Agency.

Rep. Newton and Rep. Leideger moved to hear HF2469 (Savick) and re-refer it to the committee on Public Safety. Testifier: Martin Dempsey, Regional State Liaison. Motion prevailed.

Chair Mahoney adjourned the meeting at 2:02 pm.
