MINUTES

Representative Nelson, Chair of Committee on Government Operations, called the meeting to order at 10:03am on March 11, 2014 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present at 10:04am.

HF2317 (Ward) Brainerd permitted to purchase Brainerd Dam

Chair Nelson moved that HF2317 be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources Policy.

Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF2317 be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2450 (Mahoney) St. Paul; authority to spend tax increments expanded

Chair Nelson moved that HF2450 be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.

Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF2450 be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on Taxes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2311 (Hansen) County commissioner prohibited from serving as drainage inspector

Representative Hansen moved that HF2311 be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources Policy.

Representative Hansen renewed the motion that HF2311 be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Vice-Chair Freiberg assumed the gavel at 10:43am.

HF2663 (Nelson) Metropolitan Council obsolete governing provisions repealed, and conforming technical changes made

Chair Nelson moved that HF2663 be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on Transportation Policy.

Pat Born, Regional Administrator, Metropolitan Council

Representative Drazkowski moved to amend HF2663 as follows:

Page 3, lines 3.14 to 3.15, reinstate the stricken language
Page 3, lines 3.15 to 3.16, delete the new language

THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF2663, as amended, be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on Transportation Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Nelson moved approval of the minutes from March 5, 2014.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:31am.
