ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES POLICY COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative David Dill, Chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Policy Committee, called the eighteenth meeting to order at 4:00 p.m., on January 28, 2014, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Dettmer presented his 957DE5 amendment to HF 957- a bill relating to education; prohibiting the construction of schools near former landfills; requiring notice by schools located near former landfills - to the committee for discussion.

Those testifying in regard to the legislation included:

Representative Hansen suggested more clarification of the bill and further improvement be made.

Chair called a 5 minute recess.

Chair reconvened the meeting at 5:00 p.m.

The Department of Natural Resources staff, Ed Bogges, Director of Fish & Wildlife and Dan Stark, Large Carnivore Specialist, presented background on wolf management by the department.

Representative Isaacson asked questions and commented on the information.
