MINUTES

Representative Marquart, Chair of the Committee on Education Finance, called the meeting to order at 8:15 AM, January 30, 2013 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

House Researcher Tim Strom explained to committee members district-by-district school funding printouts that showed the statutory equity gap.

Representative Hertaus moved the minutes of January 29, 2013 be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

House Fiscal Analyst Melissa Johnson explained Governor Mark Dayton's education budget spreadsheet document to committee members.

Mary Cecconi, Executive Director of Parents United for Public Schools, Tom Melcher, Minnesota Department of Education Program Finance Director, and Rose Hermodson, Minnesota Department of Education Assistant Commissioner presented the Minnesota Education Finance Working Group's recommendations.

Members' questions and comments were addressed throughout each presentation.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:46 AM.
