MINUTES

Representative Mullery, Chair of Committee on Early Childhood and Youth Development Policy, called the meeting to order at Wednesday March 12, 2014 at 4:08 PM in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present

Representative Moran moved the approval of the minutes from Tuesday March 11, 2014. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

Chair Mullery moved HF 2001 (Norton) be re-referred to the committee on Health and Human Services Policy.

Chair Mullery moved to amend HF 2001 (see attached amendment H2001DE1). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Norton presented HF 2001, as amended; family child care training and background study requirements modified, and safe sleep spaces for infants in child care requirements clarified.

Representative Laine moved to amend HF 2001, the delete everything as follows:
Page 3, line 25, delete “the trainings”.

Chair Mullery renewed his motion that HF 2001, as amended, be re-referred to the committee on Health and Human Services Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Chair Mullery moved that HF 2115 (Clark) be re-referred to the committee on Health and Human Services Finance.

Representative Clark presented information on HF 2115; Child care professional development pilot project established.

Representative Fischer presented information on HF 2754; emancipation of minors provided.
