MINUTES

Representative Benson, Vice Chair of the State Government Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:19 a.m. on February 28, 2012, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Murray moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on February 23, 2012, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1975 (Drazkowski) State government outside contract restrictions removed.

Representative Benson moved that HF1975 be recommended to pass, as amended and be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

The committee heard testimony on HF1975, as amended.

Representative Benson renewed his motion to re-refer HF1975 to the Ways and Means Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Secretary of State Mark Ritchie and Beth Fraser, Director of Governmental Affairs from the Office of the MN Secretary of State gave a presentation on the use of poll books and answered questions of the committee.

Representative Murray assumed the gavel at 9:36 a.m.

HF1813 (Benson) State government reorganization study required.

Representative Benson moved that HF1813 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

Representative Benson moved the H1813DE2 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The committee heard testimony on HF1813.
