JOBS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FINANCE

MINUTES

Representative Gunther, Chair of the Jobs and Economic Development Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:35 on February 10, 2011, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative McFarlane moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on February 8, 2011. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Testifying before committee on behalf of the Department of Labor and Industry was Commissioner Ken Peterson and Assistant Commissioner Gary Hall.

Testimony was heard from Troy Parker, Minnesota Citizens for Reform and Economic Equality.

Testifying before committee on behalf of MN Association of Rehabilitation Organizations was Clayton Liend, President of MACRO; Brian Benshoof, CEO of MRCI Worksource; Karen Johnston, Executive Director of Tasks Unlimited; Walter Waranka, employee of Lifetrack Resources.

Testifying before committee on behalf of the Neighborhood Development Center was Mike Temali, President; Bill Sands, co-founder of NDC and of Western Bank; Michelle Gayer, Owner of Salty Tart Bakery; Isaac Carpenter, Owner of Initiative Construction.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:15.
