HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES REFORM COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Gottwalt, Chair, of the Health and Human Services Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:35 P.M. on May 3, 2011, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Gottwalt called the meeting to order at 2:35 P.M. A quorum was present.

Representative Kiffmeyer moved the minutes of April 28, 2011 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Moran moved the minutes of April 27, 2011 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1018 (Zellers) Hospital moratorium exception provided.

Representative Gottwalt moved that HF1018 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register.

Representative Zellers and Sue Abderholden, NAMI, Executive Director testified on HF1018.

Representative Gottwalt renewed his motion that HF1018 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF637 (Drazowski) Food, beverage, and lodging establishment statutes exemption modified.

Representative Gottwalt moved that HF637 be recommended to pass and be sent to the Committee on Ways & Means.

Representative Gottwalt moved the H0637DE5 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Gottwalt moved the H0637A2 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Gottwalt renewed his motion that HF637, as amended, be recommended to pass and be sent to the Committee on Ways & Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1579 (McFarlane) Counties given authority to provide for general welfare, alternative service delivery pilot program for waivers established, and state strategic planning and performance review provided.

This hearing was information only.

Testifying on HF1579 were Representative McFarlane, Jeff sparks and Joe Matthews, Association of Minnesota Counties.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:32 P.M.
