MINUTES

Representative Gottwalt, Chair, of the Health and Human Services Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 3:07 P.M. on March 1, 2011, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

HF248 Loeffler Small Group Health Insurance Market Working Group recommendation enacted by repealing a requirement that small employers that do not offer group health coverage either offer, or file a form with the state stating a decision not to offer, a Section 125 plan through which employees may contribute wages to a pretax account from which to pay for individual health insurance.

Representative Benson moved approval of the minutes of February 23, 2011. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Loeffler moved that HF248 be recommended to pass and be sent to the Committee on Commerce and Regulatory Reform.

Testifying on HF248 were Representative Loeffler and Mike Hickey, National Federation Independent Businesses (NFIB)

Representative Loeffler renewed her motion that HF248 be recommended to pass and be referred to the Committee on Commerce and Regulatory Reform. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:50 P.M.
