GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Peppin, Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the forty fourth meeting to order at 10:18 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Hancock moved that the minutes of February 9, 2012, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF1954 (Downey) Counties and cities required to report additional budgetary information.

Chair Peppin moved that HF1954 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Taxes Committee.

HF2003 (Woodard) Racing Commission and State Lottery operations allowed on an ongoing basis.

Chair Peppin moved that HF2003 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the State Government Finance Committee.

The committee heard testimony on HF2003.

Chair Peppin renewed her motion that HF2003 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the State Government Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The committee went into recess at 12:04 p.m.

Representative Murray assumed the gavel and the committee reconvened at 4:34 p.m.

HF2211 (Swedzinski) State agency rulemaking temporary moratorium imposed.

Representative Sanders moved that HF2211 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the State Government Finance Committee.

Representative Sanders moved the H2211DE1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The committee heard testimony on HF2211, as amended.
