GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS

MINUTES

Representative Murray acting Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:15 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011 in Room 300 South of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

H.F. 1607 (Woodard) Capitol Complex Security advisory committee created and State Patrol authorized to provide security and protection to certain officials.
Representative O’Driscoll moved that H.F. 1607 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Public Safety Committee.
Representative O’Driscoll moved the SCS1283A-3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative O’Driscoll renewed his motion that H.F. 1607 be recommended to pass, as amended, and re-referred to the Public Safety Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND H.F. 1607 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS, AS AMENDED, AND RE-REFERRED TO THE PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE.

H.F. 1643 (Mazorol) Certificates issued to business entities simplified, et cetera.

Representative O’Driscoll moved that H.F. 1643 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Representative O’Driscoll moved the H1643A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative O’Driscoll moved the H1643A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.




Representative O’Driscoll moved the following oral amendment:
Page 1, delete section 2
Page 2, delete section 3
Renumber the sections in sequence
Correct internal references
Amend the title accordingly
THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative O’Driscoll renewed his motion that H.F. 1643 be recommended to pass, as amended, and placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED. H.F. 1643 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS, AS AMENDED, AND PLACED ON THE GENERAL REGISTER.

S.F. 1135 (Gottwalt) Maternal and Child Health Advisory Task Force extended.

Representative O’Driscoll moved that S.F. 1135 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Representative O’Driscoll assumed the gavel at 9:30 a.m.

H.F. 1645 (Loeffler) Hennepin County Soil and Water Conservation District terminated and duties transferred.

Representative Greene moved that H.F. 1645 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Environment Committee.
