MINUTES

Representative Westrom, Chair of the Civil Law Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:41 pm on January 10, 2011, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Mr. Bryan Lake, Minnesota State Bar Association, addressed issue areas that the Minnesota Bar would track this session. Mr. Wayland Campbell, Director of Child Support Division-Minnesota Department of Human Services, presented a history of legislative changes to the state's child support and custody program. Ms. Lynn Aves and Mr. Matthew Gehring, Civil Law House Research, presented the most frequent Family Law topics brought to the Civil Law Committee in recent sessions.

Mr. Bob Johnson, Insurance Federation of Minnesota and Mr. Mike Hickey, National Federation of Independent Businesses, testified on tort reform. Mr. Tim Kinley, testified on issues relating to child support custody.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:25 p.m.
