Representative Cy Thao, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:30 A.M. on Friday, March 30, 2009 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Emmer moved that the minutes of March 17, 2009 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1745 (Ruud) Health occupations provisions modified, licensed heath care professional definition expanded, food, beverage, and lodging establishments provisions modified, federal government rules required to implement the minimum data set for resident reimbursement classification

Representative Ruud moved that HF1745 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Health Care and Human Services Policy and Oversight.

Providing testimony on the bill:

Tom Hiendlmayr, Director, Health Occupations Program, Minnesota Department of Health

Representative Ruud moved the A09-0183 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Ruud renewed her motion that HF1745, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Health Care and Human Services Policy and Oversight. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1860 (Ruud) Lasers, intense pulsed light devices, and radio frequency devices regulated

Representative Ruud moved that HF1860 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Health Care and Human Services Policy and Oversight.

Representative Ruud moved that HF1860 be laid on the table. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Thao reconvened the meeting at 9:55 A.M.

Representative Thao moved that HF535 be taken off the table for reconsideration. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF535 (Thao) Health-related licensing board provisions modified

Representative Thao moved that HF535 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Health Care and Human Services Policy and Oversight.

Representative Thao moved the H0535DE1 amendment and incorporated the H0535A2 amendment into the H0535DE1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Murphy moved the H0535A8 amendment with the following change:

Page 1, line 7 after "to" insert "non invasive"

THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Representative Thao renewed his motion that HF535, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Health Care and Human Services Policy and Oversight. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
