MINUTES
Representative Carlos Mariani, Chair of the K-12 Education Policy & Oversight Committee, called the first meeting to order at 8:45AM on Thursday, January 8, 2009 in the Basement hearing room of the State Office Building.

A quorum was present.
Chair Mariani welcomed the committee members, staff, and advocates to the first committee hearing, and gave an overview of the agenda for the day.
Committee staff introduced themselves and explained their roles for the committee.
Members introduced themselves and talked about their top priorities for K-12 Education Policy this session.
Chair Mariani discussed the committee rules and procedures.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:00AM.
