MINUTES


Representative Brita Sailer, Vice Chair of the Game, Fish and Forestry Division, called the meeting to order at 4:38 PM, on March 23, 2009, in the Basement of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Falk moved that the minutes from March 16, 2009 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Vice Chair Sailer moved HF 1712 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Game and Fish Bill.

HF 1712-Jackson
Residents 90 years of age or older provided free angling licenses

The following people provided testimony on HF 1712:
Irene Long, Private Citizen

Vice Chair Sailer renewed her motion that HF 1712 be laid over for possible future inclusion in the Omnibus Game and Fish Bill.

Vice Chair Sailer moved HF 1848 be heard and laid over for possible future inclusion in the Omnibus Game and Fish Bill.

HF 1848-Newton
Lifetime spearing and lifetime angling and spearing licenses established

The following people provided testimony on HF 1848:

Vice Chair Sailer renewed the motion that HF 1848 will be laid over for possible future inclusion in the Omnibus Game and Fish Bill.

Representative McNamara moved HF 1143 be heard and laid over for further consideration

Representative moved the A09-0209 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Thao assumed the gavel at 6:21 PM.

Representative McNamara renewed his motion that HF 1143, as amended, be laid over for further consideration.

Chair Dill moved HF 1132 be recommended to pass and be referred to the Committee on Environment Policy and Oversight.

HF 1132-Dill
Forest products scale cutting on state land eliminated

Chair Dill moved the H1132DE1 amendment.

Chair Dill moved the following oral amendments into the H1132DE1 amendment:
On line 1.10 delete "stumpage" and insert "timber"
On line 1.13 delete "July" and insert "January"
On line 1.18 delete "up to 40,000 acres of"
On line 1.19 delete "for a term not to exceed 21 years"
On line 1.23 after the word access insert "for hunting, fishing, and motorized and non-motorized recreation"
The oral amendment was incorporated.

Chair Dill renewed his motion for the H1132DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Dill renewed the motion that HF 1132, as amended, be recommended to pass to the Committee on Environment Policy and Oversight. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
