MINUTES


Representative Brita Sailer, Vice Chair of the Game, Fish and Forestry Division, called the meeting to order at 4:38 PM, on February 16, 2009, in the Basement of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Thao moved that the minutes from February 9, 2009 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Thao moved HF301 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

HF301- Hosch
Fishing contest permit requirements modified.

The following people provided testimony on HF301:

Representative Hosch
Ed Boggess, Department of Natural Resources

Representative Thao renewed his motion that HF301 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

Representative Thao moved HF477 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

HF477- Thao
Portable bear stands allowed to be left overnight in wildlife management areas, and barrel use allowed when baiting bear.

The following people provided testimony of HF477:

Bob Meier, Assistant Commissioner Department of Natural Resources
Howard Goldman, State Director for the Humane Society of the United States

Representative Thao renewed his motion that HF477 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

Representative Dill moved HF128 be recommended to pass and referred to the Committee on Environment Policy and Oversight.

HF128- Dill
Bow and gun case requirements removed.

The following people provided testimony on HF128:

Representative Dill moved the H0128DE3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Dill renewed his motion that HF128 be passed as amended and referred to the Committee on Environment Policy and Oversight. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
