MINUTES


Representative Kent Eken, Chair of the Environment Policy and Oversight Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:33 PM, on February 10, 2009, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Hansen moved that the minutes from February 5, 2009 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Bigham moved HF250 be passed and referred to the Committee on Commerce and Labor.

HF250- Knuth
Children protected from toxic chemicals in products

The following people provided testimony on HF250:

Representative Knuth

Chair Eken moved the H0250DE4 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Bigham renewed the motion that HF250 be passed as amended and referred to the Committee on Commerce and Labor. THE MOTION PRVAILED.

Representative Gardner moved HF403 be recommended to pass and referred to the Committee on Commerce and Labor.

HF403- Gardner
Yard waste containers required to be compostable, and biodegradable standard for certain plastics established.

Representative Gardner moved the following oral amendment:

Delete section 3, lines 2.17-2.22
On line 2.23, change the "4" to a "3"
On line 2.24, change the "3" to a "2"

THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Gardner renewed his motion that HF403 be passed as amended and referred to the Committee on Commerce and Labor. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Eken moved HF60 be passed and referred to the Committee on Finance with recommendation it be re-referred to the Environment and Natural Resources Finance Committee.

HF60- Hamilton
State trail established

The following people provided testimony on HF60:

Chair Eken renewed the motion that HF60 be passed and re-referred to the Committee on Finance with recommendation it be re-referred to the Environment and Natural Resources Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Eken moved that HF230 be passed and referred to the Committee on Finance with recommendation it be re-referred to the Environment and Natural Resources Finance Committee.

HF230- Magnus
Casey Jones Trail extended

The following provided testimony on HF230:

Chair Eken renewed the motion that HF230 be passed and referred to the Committee on Finance with recommendation it be re-referred to the Environment and Natural Resources Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
