Representative Joe Atkins, Chair of the Commerce and Labor Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:40 P.M. on March 10, 2009, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Hoppe moved that the minutes of March 5, 2009 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF1048 (Brynaert) Eligibility for benefits under certain training programs provided.

Representative Atkins moved HF1048.

Representative Atkins moved HF1048 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Higher Education and Workforce Development Finance and Policy Division. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF841 (Juhnke) Sunset of the farmer-lender mediation law eliminated.

Representative Atkins moved HF841.

HF866 (Hosch) School districts required to obtain employee health coverage through the public employees insurance program.

Representative Hosch moved the H0866A4 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
