Representative Loren Solberg, Chair of the Committee on Ways and Means, called the meeting to order at 8:15 A.M on May 16, 2007, in Room 200.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Carlson moved to adopt the minutes of May 15, 2007.
THE MOTION PREVAILED

Omnibus pension bill modifying provisions of various state and local retirement plans.

Representative Mary Murphy moved to take HF1978 off the table.

Representative Mary Murphy moved to amend HF1978 as follows: see H1978-10A.

Representative Mary Murphy moved to amend HF1978 as follows: see H1978-15A.

Representative Murphy presented her bill.

Representative Mary Murphy renewed her motion that HF1978 as amended be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Energy conservation provisions modifications; public utilities decoupling rate mechanism pilot projects; state government energy savings plan development; landlords energy savings.

Representative Hilty moved that SF997 pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Kalin presented his bill.

Representative Hilty renewed his motion that SF997 pass and be placed on the General Register.

The committee recessed at the call of the chair.

The Committee on Ways and Means reconvened at 2:40 PM.

HF2285 (Sertich)

Representative Sertich moved that HF2285 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration.

Representative Sertich presented his bill.

A roll call vote was requested.

Those voting in the affirmative were: Solberg, Brynaert, Clark, Hilstrom, Hilty, Kelliher, Mariani, McNamara, Murphy, E., Ozment, Pelowski, Sertich, Smith, Swails.

Those voting in the negative were: Dean, Gunther, Holberg, Lencewski, Paulsen, Sviggum, Tschumper.

Those abstaining or absent: Abeler, Eken, Erhardt, Greiling, Huntley, Kahn, Murphy, M.

Representative Sertich renewed his motion that HF2285 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

The meeting is adjourned at 2:45 PM
