MINUTES


Representative Gene Pelowski, Chair of the Governmental Operations, Reform, Technology and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:07 A.M. on, Thursday, January 18, 2007, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

The Chair went over committee procedure and introductions of members and staff were made.

Scheduled for hearing was: H. F. 0007 (Loeffler)

A bill for an relating to state government; providing that certain appropriations continue in effect; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 16A.

Rep. Morgan moved H. F. 0007 be recommended to pass and be referred to the Committee on Finance.

Rep. Morgan moved to amend HF 0007 with the delete-all amendment, H0007DE1 (attached). THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Loeffler explained her amendment.

Rep. Brod moved to amend H0007DE1 by incorporating Amendment H0007A4. Discussion was held. A vote was taken on the amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.

Rep. Emmer moved to amend H0007DE1 by offering the following amendment, H0007A2, and moved as follows:

page one, line 1.5, strike "even" and insert "odd"

Discussion was held. A vote was taken on H0007A2, as amended. THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.

Rep. Anderson moved to amend H0007DE1 by incorporating H0007A5. Rep. Anderson offered the following oral amendment:

page one, line 1.4, after the word "expenses" insert "under Section 3.099"

Discussion was held on the amendment. Rep. Brod requested a roll call vote on the H0007A5 amendment.

THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.

Rep. Morgan renewed his motion that H007DE1 be recommended to pass as amended and be re-referred to the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Scheduled for hearing were the following bills: HF 42 (Rukavina), HF 66 (Kahn), HF 68 (Solberg), and HF 94 (Bigham). No action was taken on these bills at this time.

The meeting adjourned at 9:41 A.M.
