MINUTES


Representative Hornstein, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order
at 2:20 P.M. on, Wednesday, February 14, 2007, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Hortman moved that the minutes of Wednesday, January 31, 2007 and February 7, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 539 Junke

Rep. Lieder moved HF 539 be recommended to pass and rereferred to the Committee on Transportation and Transit Finance and Policy. Betsy Parker, Director of Government Affairs, MnDOT, assisted Rep. Junke and gave information/spoke in favor of HF 539. Rep. Lieder's motion was renewed. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 676 Ward

Rep. Hornstein moved the A07-0060 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED. Rep. Hornstein moved that HF 676, as amended, be recommended to pass and rereferred to the Committee on Transportation and Transit Finance and Policy. Rep. Ward presented his bill and the following people spoke in favor of HF 676:
Kathy Jordan, Parent of child killed by a drunk driver, Nisswa, MN
Marc Jordan, Parent of child killed by a drunk driver, Nisswa, MN
Diana Lodermeier, Crow Wing County Victim Advocate, Brainerd, MN

Rep. Hornstein moved the H0667A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED. Rep. Hornstein moved that HF 667, as amended, be recommended to pass and rereferred to the Committee on Transportation and Transit Finance and Policy. Rep. Simon presented the bill with the assistance of:

Rep. Hornstein renewed his motion. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
