TRANSPORTATION POLICY AND FINANCE COMMITTEE
MINUTES


Representative Lieder, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:08 P.M. on February 19, 2008, in Room 10 of the State Office Building. The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Morgan moved that the minutes of February 13, 2008 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1219 (Juhnke) Milk truck weight exemption sunset date repealed. Rep. Lieder moved the bill in its orginal form. Bruce Kleven, MN Association of Cooperatives, assisted Rep. Junke in presenting the legislation. Rep. Lieder renewed his motion that HF 1219 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Transportation Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2813 (Winkler) Metropolitan transportation projects state funding prioritization required for projects that have been awarded federal funding. Rep. Lieder moved adoption of HF 2813. Marcia Honold, Management Assistant for the City of St. Louis Park and Abby McKenzie, MnDOT assisted in presenting the bill to the committee. The bill was held over.

HF2626 (Clark) Senior Citizen identification card fee eliminated. Doug Davis from the Minneapolis Senior Citizen Advisory Committee and Charles Rosendale, a Minneapolis resident, assisted Rep. Clark in presenting the bill to the committee. Rep. Lieder moved that HF 2626 be referred to the Finance committee without recommendation. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1785 (Koenen) Railroad track rehabilitation funding provided, bonds issued, and money
appropriated. Rep. Hausman moved the bill. Rep. Koenen moved to amend HF 1785 verbally as follows:

Page 1, line 19 delete "7" and insert "8"
