MINUTES


Representative Kahn, Chair of the Division, called the meeting to order at 2:20 P.M. on February 19, 2008 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was not present.

Chair Kahn introduced the Committee Page for the State Government Finance Division, Matthew Scherer, who briefly introduced himself.

A quorum was present at 2:23 P.M.

Brigadier General Joseph Kelly, Assistant Adjutant General, Terrence Palmer, Comptroller and Don Kerr, Director of Reintegration, all from the Department of Military Affairs, presented the Department's Capital Budget Request.

HF 961 (Ruud) - A bill for an act relating to capital improvements; appropriating money for a veterans memorial in Eden Prairie; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.

Chair Kahn moved that HF 961 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the State Government Finance Division's bonding recommendations to the Capital Investment Finance Division.

Representative Ruud and John Mallow, Chairman of the Eden Prairie Veteran's Memorial, testified in support of HF 961.

HF 2999 (Haws) - A bill for an act relating to capital improvements; appropriating money for replacement of the roof at the St. Cloud National Guard Training and Community Center; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.

Chair Kahn moved that HF 2999 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the State Government Finance Division's bonding recommendations to the Capital Investment Finance Division.



Representative Haws testified in support of HF 2999.

Representative Ward moved that the minutes of November 15, 2007 and February 6, 2008 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 2810 (Moe) - A bill for an act relating to capital improvements; appropriating money for repair of the roof at the Bemidji National Guard Training and Community Center; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.

Chair Kahn moved that HF 2810 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the State Government Finance Division's bonding recommendations to the Capital Investment Finance Division.

Representative Moe and Terrance Palmer, Comptroller, Department of Military Affairs testified in support of HF 2810

The meeting was adjourned at 3:02 P.M.
