MINUTES


Representative Karen Clark, Chair, called the meeting to order at 10:13 AM on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was not present.

Rep. Norton gave a brief introduction.

Scott Hendrick, National Conference of State Legislatures, Environment, Energy, and Transportation Division, provided testimony on the actions of other states regarding Radon exposure and prevention.

Bill Angell, Chair of Mitigation Prevention Working Group of the World Health Organization's International Radon Project; Director of Midwest Universities Radon Consortium; President of American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists, provided testimony on the affects of radon poisoning and possible preventative actions.

Dale Dorschner, MN Department of Health, Indoor Air Unit Supervisor, Environmental Health Division, provided an update on the Department's actions and projects relating radon.


The meeting was adjourned at 12:20 PM.
