MINUTES


Representative Karen Clark, Chair, called the meeting to order at 1:05 PM on Thursday, December 13, 2007 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Craig Acomb, MN Department of Health, Assistant Division Director, Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Prevention and Control Division, provided an update on neurological illnesses in workers at Quality Pork Processors, Inc. in Austin, MN

Mary Manning, MN Department of Health, Division Director, Health Promotion and Chronic Disease, provided an update on the Cancer Surveillance System, Fragrance-Free School Pilot Project, Mesothelioma analysis, and the biomonitoring program.

Maggie Diebel, MN Department of Health, Division Director, Community and Family Health provided an update on family home visiting, window screen safety, newborn hearing screening, and suicide prevention grants.

John Stine, MN Department of Health, Division Director, Environmental Health, provided an update on projects related to flood relief in SE Minnesota, water level testing, blood lead testing, and environmental justice mapping.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:22 PM.
