MINUTES


Representative Karen Clark, Chair, called the eighteenth meeting to order at 4:04 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 in Room 400S of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Clark called the meeting to order at 4:04 p.m.

A quorum was present.

Representative Benson moved that HF993 pass and be re-referred to the committee on Higher Education and Workforce Development.

HF993 (Norton) Radon control federal building codes adopted

Representative Norton presented HF993 to the committee.

Representative Benson moved amendment H0993A1. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Benson renewed his motion that HF993 pass and be re-referred to the committee on Higher Education and Workforce Development as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Benson assumed the gavel at 4:37.

Representative Laine moved that the minutes from Tuesday, March 6, 10 a.m. meeting, be approved as corrected. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Clark moved amendment H0695A2. (Attached) THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Clark moved that HF695 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

HF695 (Clark) Lead Poisoning Prevention Act modified relating to testing and blood lead levels reporting, sale of children's items containing lead prohibited, medical assistance coverage provided, and lead hazards in properties disclosure required

Representative Clark presented HF695 to the committee.

Representative Moe moves an amendment as follows:
Following "landlords." On line 9.11
Add "The standards will not require testing more often than once a year unless renovation has occurred. No additional testing shall be required once a residential building has been shown to have lead levels in excess of acceptable standards."
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Clark renewed her motion that HF695 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill. Hearing no objection, the bill was laid over.
