SUBCOMMITTEE ON WATERSHEDS, WETLANDS, AND BUFFER PROTECTION
MINUTES
Representative Rick Hansen, Chair of the Subcommittee, called the meeting to order at 12:30 P.M. on March 13, 2007, in Room 500 South of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Vice Chair Gunther called the meeting to order at 12:31 P.M.
HF577 Hansen, Ditch buffer and drainage and inspection requirements modified, annual drainage authority reports required, and money appropriated.
Representative Hansen presented HF577.
A quorum was present at 12:33 P.M.
Doug Thomas, Assistant Director, Board of Soil and Water Resources, testified in favor of the bill.
Representative Hansen moved HF577.
The bill was laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.
Representative Doty moved that the minutes of March 9th be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.
Chair Hansen assumed the gavel.
HF1143 Morrow, Minnesota River Basin Joint Powers Board funding provided, and money appropriated.
Vice Chair Gunther moved HF1143.
Vice Chair Gunther moved Representative Morrow's amendment to his bill as follows: Line 1.6, delete "$92,108" and insert "$93,000", and after "appropriated" and before "from", insert "in each year of the biennium". THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Morrow presented his bill as amended.
Shannon Fisher, Assistant Director, Minnesota River Board, testified in favor of the bill.
The bill was laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.
Representative Peterson moved that the committee recess until 1:05 P.M.
The committee recessed at 12:57 P.M.
The committee reconvened at 1:05 P.M.
HF816 McNamara, Prairie and wetland restoration planning and resource inventory funding provided relating to University of Minnesota land in Dakota county.
Representative Hoppe moved HF816.
Representative McNamara presented HF816.
Joe Kurcinski, Central Region Director, Department of Natural Resources, testified in favor of the bill.
The bill was laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.
