SUBCOMMITTEE ON WATERSHEDS, WETLANDS, AND BUFFER PROTECTION

MINUTES


Representative Rick Hansen, Chair of the Subcommittee, called the meeting to order at 12:31 P.M. on February 27, 2007, in Room 500 South of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Vice Chair Gunther assumed the gavel at 12:33 P.M.

HF 374 (Hansen)

Representative Hansen presented HF 374.

Judy Erickson, Legislative Specialist, Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (MASWCD), testified in support of the bill.

Ken Pederson, MASWCD President and East Polk Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor, testified in support of the bill

Representative Gunther announced the presence of a quorum and called the meeting to order at 12:37 P.M.

Representative Wagenius, ex-officio member of the committee, was present.

Marilyn Bernhardson, Legislative Committee Chair, MASWCD and Redwood Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor, testified in support of the bill.

Representative Hansen moved that HF 374 be laid over for future consideration.

Darwin Roberts, Martin County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor, testified in support of the bill.

LeAnn Buck, Executive Director, MASWCD, provided testimony in response to a question from Representative Wagenius.

Representative Hansen renewed his motion that HF 374 be recommended to pass and put in the committee bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Hansen assumed the gavel at 1:28 P.M.

Representative Hoppe moved that the minutes of February 20th be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED.

Mark Schnobrich, McLeod Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor, testified in response to a question from Representative Wagenius.

Representative Gunther moved to reconsider HF 374. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Gunther moved that HF 374 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


The meeting was adjourned at 1:40 P.M.
