MINUTES


Representative Mindy Greiling, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:25PM on February 19, 2008, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative McFarlane moved approval of the minutes for February 12, 2008 as corrected:
"February 12, 2008" replaces "March 27, 2007."
THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED.


HF2807 (Brown) A bill for an act relating to capital improvements; authorizing the issuance of state bonds; appropriating money for the Alden Community Center.

Representative Brown moved HF2807 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Finance Bonding Recommendations Bill.

Representative Brown and Joe Guanella, Superintendent, Alden-Conger School District, testified.


HF3118 (Tschumper) A bill for an act relating to capital improvements; providing for a cooperative facility grant to Independent School District No. 239, Rushford-Peterson.

Representative Greiling moved HF3118 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Finance Bonding Recommendations Bill.

Representative Tschumper, Chuck Ehlers, Superintendent, Rushford-Peterson Schools, John Nitecki, School Board President, Rushford-Peterson Schools, and Gary Benson, Financial Planner, Rushford-Peterson Schools, testified.


HF3178 (Sailer) A bill for an act relating to capital improvements; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds; appropriating money for grants for the design of renewable energy projects in K-12 public schools.

Representative Greiling moved HF3178 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Finance Bonding Recommendations Bill.

Representative Sailer, Bernie Eikmeier, Program Manager, McKinstry Company, and Doug Stahl, Director of Buildings and Grounds, St. Anthony-New Brighton School District, testified.


The meeting adjourned at 3:30PM.
