MINUTES


Representative Tom Rukavina, Chair of the Higher Education and Work Force Development Policy and Finance Division, called the meeting to order at 12:35 P.M. on Thursday, March 22, 2007, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Hortman moved that HF 1974 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Education Finance and Economic Competitiveness Finance Division.

Representative Hortman presented HF 1974, appropriating money for law school loan repayment assistance.

Representative Moe moved to amend HF 1508 with the delete everything amendment H1508DE3, attached.

Representative Moe moved to amend HF 1508 as amended with an oral amendment, as follows:

Page 2, after line 30, insert "(d) For the purposes of this section mass market and trade

books that are not published, marketed or sold primarily for use in or by postsecondary

institutions are excluded"
