Representative Nora Slawik, Chair, called the tenth meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2007 in Room 200 of the State Office Building. Quorum was not present.

Representative Eastland moved approval of the minutes for Tuesday, February 13, 2007. THE MOTION PREVAILED and the minutes are approved.

Representative John Ward introduced testifiers
Connie Nelson, Director, Early Childhood Family Education
Testified on ECFE programming and specific effects of funding cuts.
Steve Razidlo, Assistant Superintendent
Testified on ECFE and other early childhood programming and the effects of funding cuts.
Tammy Feige Filippi, Brainerd Lakes Area Early Childhood Coalition Coordinator
Testified on Coalition programming and community efforts and partnerships.
Presentation by the Minnesota Initiative Foundation
Representative Steve Gottwalt introduced testifiers
Kathy Gaalswyk, President, Initiative Foundation, Little Falls
Testified on mission and collaborative components of Initiative Foundation.
Chris Klimpel, Park Industries, St. Cloud
Testified on United Way and Early Childhood Initiative programming and benefits on families. Also testified on the effect of early childhood learning on economic development and the workforce.
