MEETING MINUTES


Representative Nora Slawik, Chair, called the second meeting to order at 4:01 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 in Room 200 of the State Office Building. No quorum at that time.

Quorum was reached at 4:03 p.m.

Representative Bly moved that the minutes of January 11, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


Overview of Department of Human Services (DHS) childcare programs.

Chuck Johnson, Assistant Commissioner for Children and Families
Testified about children's services provided by DHS.

Deb Swenson-Klatt, Manager, Early Childhood Development
Testified about childcare services, funding and quality.

Katie Williams, Director of Early Childhood Programs, Minneapolis YWCA
Testified about programs at the YWCA and the outcomes.

Cherie Kotilinek, Manager, Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)
Testified about DHS CCAP.


The meeting was adjourned at 5:29 p.m.
