MINUTES


Representative Mary Murphy, Chair, called the first meeting to order at 4:07 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2007 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Murphy called the meeting to order at 4:07 p.m. A quorum was present.

Representative Solberg, ex-officio, was present at the meeting.

Chair Murphy welcomed the committee members and gave an overview of the purpose, roles and responsibilities of the Education Finance and Economic Competitiveness Division.

Representative Mariani discussed the goals and financial priorities of the E-12 Education Policy Committee.

Representative Greiling discussed the goals and financial priorities of the K-12 Finance Division.

Representative Slawik discussed the goals and financial priorities of the Early Childhood Learning Finance Division.

Representative Rukavina discussed the goals and financial priorities of the Higher Education and Workforce Development Policy and Finance Division.

Chair Murphy addressed the audience, asking them to complete a worksheet on their priorities and invited the members to speak about themselves and why they serve on the committee and what issues they want solved.

Members introduced themselves and spoke on their history and goals for the committee.
