MINUTES


Representative Alice Hausman, Chair of the Capital Investment Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:35 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2007, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building. The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll. A quorum was not present.

HF 1938 (Lanning) relating to capital improvements; appropriating money for predesign of a multicounty regional chemical dependency treatment facility and correctional center in west central Minnesota; authorizing this issuance and sale of state bonds.

Rep. Lanning moved that HF 1938 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Capital Investment Finance bill.

Rep. Lanning moved to amend HF 1938 with the H1938DE1 amendment, see attached.

Rep. Hausman moved that HF 859 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Capital Investment Finance bill.

Rep. Mahoney moved to amend HF 1528 as follows:

Minnesota ports.
- John Apitz, Messerli and Kramer, brief presentation on the possibility of the Minnesota Zephyr railroad property being sold to the state and becoming a part of the Gateway Trail.
- David Beaudet, Mayor, City of Oak Park Heights, Chair of the Middle St. Croix Water Management Organization, regarding funding of Bayport sewer project.

Rep. Lieder moved approval of the minutes from the meeting of Thursday, March 15, 2007. MOTION PREVAILED THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED
