Representative Carlson, Chair of the Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:42 P.M. on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

Rep. Rukavina moved that HF3722, Second Committee Engrossment, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Rep. Rukavina moved to amend HF3722, Second Committee Engrossment. (See attached amendment H3722DE7). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Rukavina moved adoption of the Higher Education and Workforce Development Division Report for HF3034, First Committee Engrossment. (See language at https://www.revisor.leg.state.mn.us/bin/showPDF.php). THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE DIVISION REPORT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Mahoney moved that HF3034, First Committee Engrossment, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Rep. Mahoney presented HF3034, First Committee Engrossment (Mahoney) Electrical, plumbing, water conditioning, boiler, and high-pressure piping professional provisions modified.

John Rajkowski, Director, Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, testified on the proposed amendment A08-1621.

Rep. Hilty moved that SF3337, Second Engrossment, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Rep. Westrom moved to amend SF3337, Second Engrossment, as amended. (See attached amendment S3337A4).

Rep. Westrom withdrew amendment S3337A4.

Rep. Garofalo moved to amend SF3337, Second Engrossment, as amended. (See attached amendment S3337A2). A division was requested on the motion. There were 18 Ayes and 9 Nays. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Nelson presented SF2775, Third Engrossment (Nelson) Disconnection notice requirement to municipality upon customer gas or electric service shutoff.

Rep. Solberg moved adoption of the Higher Education and Work Force Development Policy and Finance Division Report for HF3602. (See language at http://wdoc.house.leg.state.mn.us/leg/LS85/HF3602.0.pdf). THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE DIVISION REPORT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Solberg moved that HF3602 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.
