Representative Carlson, Chair of the Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:06 A.M. on Monday, January 29, 2007, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

Rep. Slawik provided priorities of the Early Childhood Learning Finance Division for this session.

Emily Adriaens, House Fiscal Analyst, continued the presentation about division accounts and funding base of the Early Childhood Learning Finance Division.

Rep. Hilty moved approval of the minutes of Monday, January 22, 2007 and Monday, January 25, 2007 minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

HF 355 (Nornes) Academic competitiveness highlighting individual excellence and valuing education grant program established, and money appropriated.
HF 358 (Dill) Cook County higher education project funding provided, and money appropriated.
HF 360 (Ruud) Intermediate school district member districts authorized to levy for school safety activities at facilities operated by the intermediate district.
HF 366 (Benson) Equity revenue increased for school districts above the 95th percentile.

HF 256 (Peppin) Anoka County highway 101 and I-94 interchanges funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.
HF 264 (Ruth) Trunk Highway 14 between Dodge Center and Owatonna reconstruction funding provided, and money appropriated.

HF 311 (Hornstein) Cell phones; moving violation fines doubled when committed while operating mobile phone.
HF 326 (Westrom) Gold Star Family special license plates authorized for family members of military personnel who have died in active military service, and plate fee and registration tax exempted for certain survivors.
HF 350 (Zellers) Trunk highway 610 four-lane freeway project completion matching funds provided, and money appropriated.

Greg Crowe, House Fiscal Analyst, gave a presentation about division accounts and funding base of the K-12 Education Finance Division. Bill Marx, House Chief Fiscal Analyst, responded to questions.

Vice-Chair Sailer assumed chair at 11:02 A.M.
Chair Carlson resumed chair at 11:06 A.M.

Rep. Greiling provided priorities of the K-12 Education Finance Division for this session.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:28 A.M.
