MINUTES


Representative Kate Knuth called the meeting to order at 4:06 P.M. on Monday, February 12th, 2007, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll. A quorum was not present.

Ed Boggess and Ron Payer, DNR, gave a presentation on the DNR Fisheries Management Section and answered questions from the committee.

A quorum was present.

Chairman Dill assumed the gavel at 4:36 P.M.

Chairman Dill officially called the meeting to order at 4:37 P.M.

Representative Wagenius moved approval of the minutes of February 5th, 2007. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED.

HF 72 (Hosch) Bear baiting restrictions modified.

Representative Moe moved HF 72.

Ed Boggess, DNR, answered question from the committee on HF 72.

Chairman Dill laid over HF 72 for possible inclusion in the Game and Fish Omnibus Bill.

HF 500 (Rukavina) Disabled hunters permit provisions extended to include chronic disabilities.

Chairman Dill moved HF 500.

Chairman Dill laid over HF 500 for possible inclusion in the Game and Fish Omnibus Bill.

HF 354 (Anzelc) Timber harvesting local economic impact statement required.

Representative Moe moved HF 354 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources with a recommended re-referral to the Committee on Finance and for re-referral to Higher Education and Work Force Development.

Representative Moe renewed his motion that HF 354 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources with a recommended re-referral to the Committee on Finance and for re-referral to Higher Education and Work Force Development. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 197 (Hackbarth) Trapping added to the small game and sporting lifetime licenses.

Representative Hackbarth moved HF 197 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Game & Fish Omnibus Bill.

HF 152 (Nornes)

Representative Hoppe moved HF 152 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources with a recommended re-referral to the Committee on Finance and for re-referral to Environment and Natural Resources Finance.

Representative Nornes moved and oral amendment to HF 152 as follows:
On line 1.9 after age, delete "65" and add "70". On line 1.10 after age, delete "65" and add "70".
THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Hoppe renewed his motion that HF 152, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources with a recommended re-referral to the Committee on Finance and for re-referral to Environment and Natural Resources Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


The meeting was adjourned at 5:34 P.M.
