MINUTES


Representative David Dill, Chair, called the meeting to order at 4:05 P.M. on Monday, February 19th, 2007, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll. .

A quorum was present.

Representative Hackbarth moved approval of the minutes of February 12th, 2007. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED.

HF 197 (Hackbarth) Trapping added to the small game and sporting lifetime licenses.

Representative Hackbarth moved HF 197 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Game and Fish Omnibus Bill.

Representative Hackbarth moved the A07-0077 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Leslie Davis, Earth Protector Group, testified in opposition to HF 197.

Chairman Dill laid HF 197 over for possible inclusion in the Game and Fish Omnibus Bill.

HF 299 (Dill) Timber permit extension, cancellation, and terminations provided.

Chairman Dill moved HF 299 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

Chairman Dill renewed his motion that HF 299 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 343 (Cornish) Remote-controlled animal noise callers exempted from the general prohibition on using radios to take game animals.

Representative Cornish moved HF 343 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Game and Fish Omnibus Bill.

Representative Cornish incorporated and oral amendment as follows:
On line 1.9 after caller add, "used for fox or coyote".
THE AMENDMENT WAS INCORPORATED.

Ed Boggess, Department of Natural Resources, testified on HF 343 and answered questions from the committee.

Chairman Dill laid HF 343 over for possible inclusion in the Game and Fish Omnibus Bill.

HF 278 (Hansen) Deer license surcharge imposed for deer management and reimbursing the cost of processing deer donated for charitable purposes, and money appropriated.

Representative Hansen moved HF 278 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources.

Representative Hansen moved the A07-0081 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Hansen renewed his motion that HF 278 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources. On a division of 7 Ayes and 5 Nays THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:25 P.M.
