MINUTES


Representative Carlos Mariani, Chair of the E-12 Education Committee, called the eleventh meeting to order at 8:05 AM on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, in the basement hearing room of the State Office Building.

Rep. Hornstein moved that the minutes of February 15, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 804 (Atkins) A bill for an act relating to education; raising kindergarten through grade 12 academic achievement through increased student participation in international baccalaureate courses and programs in addition to preadvanced placement and advanced placement programs; appropriating money; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 120B.132.

Chair Mariani moved that HF 804 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Finance with a recommended re-referral to the K-12 Finance Division.

HF 1088 (Davnie) A bill relating to education; providing funding for college in the schools; appropriating money; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 136A.101, subdivision 4; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 124D.


Rep. Davnie moved that HF 1088 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Finance, with a recommended re-referral to the K-12 Finance Division.

Rep. Davnie moved A07-0086 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF 417 (Bigham) A bill for an act relating to education; providing for an elementary and middle school years international baccalaureate pilot program; appropriating money.

Chair Mariani moved that HF 417 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance, with a recommended re-referral to the K-12 Finance Division.

Chair Mariani moved that HF 233 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance, with a recommended re-referral to the K-12 Finance Division.
